Celtic Knot Mosaic

This mosaic was made using handmade ceramic burnished tesserae. It was a challenge to use the colours to give the impression of shade where the strands of the knot wound underneath. It is set in concrete, sturdy enough to be set in a floor or used as a table top, but not frostproof if left flat.
